Real Madrid have the highest wage bill among the four Champions League semi-finalists, but Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne is the highest earner, followed by Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Theo Hernandez.

The first Champions League finalist will be determined on Tuesday night in a second-leg semi-final between Inter and Milan at San Siro.

The Milanese sides have the lowest wage bills compared to Real Madrid and Manchester City, who will meet at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday after a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu last week.

Real Madrid’s wage bill is the highest among the clubs left in the competition, with €242.1m gross, as reported by Gazzetta.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are followed by Manchester City (€214.3m), Inter (€132m) and Milan (€86m).

The Rossoneri’s highest earner is Theo Hernandez, with a net €5.2m salary, although the Frenchman will soon be overtaken by Rafael Leao, who will sign a new €7m-a-year deal at San Siro.

Inter’s highest earner is Lukaku (€11m), while Real Madrid and Manchester City’s best-paid stars are Hazard (€23.1m) and De Bruyne (€23.9m).

  1. Goes to show how much we are overachieving. 1/3 of Madrid’s wage bill and we’re still competing on the same stage.
