Mirko Vucinic believes Roma will repeat their Champions League exploits of 10 years ago and beat Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Vucinic was part of the Roma side who knocked Madrid out of the Champions League during the 2007-08 campaign, his last-gasp header securing the Giallorossi a 2-1 win in the second leg of their last-16 tie.
“I’m currently on holiday in Lecce and I’ll admit I didn’t see the game against Chievo in full,” the former Juventus attacker told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m currently on holiday in Lecce and I’ll admit I didn’t see the game against Chievo in full,” the former Juventus attacker told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Psychologically it was a blow, but matches like those in the Champions League can be useful to recover.
“Certainly it was something inexplicable, but the big teams know how to put negative results behind them.
“I had a wonderful feeling about the match of 10 years ago. It was a perfect game, played at a stadium that made history. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
“"Obviously at the time of the draw we all felt disadvantaged, but we were strong ourselves. And for me it was extraordinary to score goals in front of the Curva.
“I hope Roma experience nights like this again. It’s still too early to make judgments. Even Juve started badly a few years ago and then won the Scudetto.
“It’d be wrong to lose hope now. The match against Real could be the perfect one for redemption.
“I’m sure that when Roma take to the field in the right way, they play good football. Important players such as Alisson, Nainggolan and Strootman have left, but I have confidence in Monchi’s signings.
“He knows how to do his job and I’m sure that even someone like Olsen will soon be able to do very well.
“I don’t know if the Roma of 2008 were stronger than this one, but I can say that we had only a very strong Inter in front of us, who went on to win everything.
“I hoped to win the Champions League at Juventus, but they haven’t yet either. Spalletti and Di Francesco both tend to play good football.
“That’s why it seems incredible to me that someone like the Inter Coach is now being criticised.
“If you question someone like him…. As for the League, I know I’m going against the current but I still believe that Roma can be the anti-Juventus.
“My prediction for tonight? Roma to win 1-0 with a Dzeko goal.”
