Mirko Vucinic was up for a starting spot against Chievo, but Juventus announced he’ll be out for several weeks.

The striker had been one of the favourites to start Sunday afternoon’s Serie A match with the Flying Donkeys.

However, he sprained his right knee during today’s training session and immediately had several tests with specialists.

There is no lesion to the ligaments, but there is bruising of the tibia and the internal meniscus.

Juventus medical staff confirm surgery is not necessary, but Vucinic “will need several weeks before making a full recovery.”

It has been a difficult time for the Montenegro international, who had been on the verge of a transfer to Inter in January and had emptied his locker before the deal was called off.
