Juventus star Mirko Vucinic has been named Montenegro Player of the Year, beating Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic.

According to the local media, Vucinic won by only a handful of votes ahead of the Viola talent.

“It is always a great honour to be named the best player in my country,” said the Bianconeri forward.

“I had a year of great success with my club and national team. I hope 2013 can bring further satisfaction and that next year Montenegro can secure qualification for the 2014 World Cup.”

This is the sixth time Vucinic has won the award after 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011.
