Mirko Vucinic held his enthusiastic first Turin Press conference. “Just the name Juventus was enough to make up my mind. My time at Roma was over.”
The striker completed his transfer this week for €15m, having also been linked with Manchester United, Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers.
“Just the name Juventus sums up this club and when my agent said that name, it was enough to make up my mind,” grinned Vucinic.
“My time at Roma was over and I had already decided to leave at the end of last season. I spoke to director Daniele Prade and President Rosella Sensi, who gave me a great deal and I thank them for that.
“However, now I am playing for the most loved and well-known Italian club in the world.”
The Montenegro international has already had two training sessions with Antonio Conte’s side, then met President Andrea Agnelli.
“He really fired me up and I hope to keep hold of that passion throughout the whole season, transforming it into the ability to win.
“I had spoken to the Coach straight after I signed the contract and he really impressed me.
“I would put Juve in the top seeds for this season. We may not be playing in the Champions League, but that doesn’t matter to me, as we are strong. We’ll try to qualify for the next edition and do more than that, too.”
Vucinic confirmed he has chosen shirt number 14 for Juventus, “as it was the first one I wore for both Lecce and Montenegro.”
