Milan are on the lookout for a new central midfielder, and Wolfsburg’s Aster Vranckxk is the latest player linked with a move to the Stadio Meazza.

Milan are still looking for a defensive midfielder following Franck Kessié’s move to Barcelona and according to Gazzetta, Paolo Maldini is now considering a move for Vranckxk, who is contracted with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg until 2025.

The 19-year-old is the captain of the Belgium U21 squad and has collected 25 appearances in the Bundesliga.

Raphael Onyedika is believed to be Milan’s No.1 target in midfield, but Midtjylland have rejected the Rossoneri’s opening offer insisting that they want to keep the 21-year-old for at least one more season.

Bordeaux’s Jean Onana is also said to be on Milan’s agenda.

Rade Krunic has been ruled for over a month, so Milan are in a hurry to get a new central midfielder by the end of the summer transfer window.

Stefano Pioli’s men visit Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium tonight.

  1. @ Gino

What’s it to you what other clubs do?

Go look at Atalanta’s line up for tonight. They are a transitional club for talents and they have at best the same number of Italians (2) as Milan. That is if you want to count Toloi as an Italian and he’s certainly not young. At least Milan’s Calabria and Tonali are born and bred Italian talents and are still young.

  2. Now if a club like Atalanta can’t/won’t do it, how is Milan supposed to do it? Not even the relegation candidate clubs have many Italians. In Spain the weaker sides have all homegrown line ups, and then the top teams sign the very best of them.

  3. The two top clubs in Spain have one and four Spanish players in their starting eleven, and we all know they have a wider pool of talents than Italy right now.

So, you, like many others who bring up this issue here, are barking up the wrong tree.

  4. Had to write like this to find the trigger words. It has become ridiculous and they don’t even care.
