Aster Vranckx has hardly featured for Milan following his arrival in the summer but he’s keen to make an impact in the lead up to the World Cup break.

The 19-year-old Belgian defender joined the Rossoneri in the summer from VfL Wolfsburg on a loan deal with a buy option attached and so far he’s struggled to find space in Stefano Pioli’s squad, only playing 12 minutes of action in a 2-1 win over Sampdoria earlier this month.

Vranckx picked up some much needed minutes in this international break, starting in both of Belgium Under-21’s matches against Netherlands and France.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Vranckx will be hoping to carve out some space for himself in the Milan squad in the coming weeks, a busy period for Piolis’s side. Between now and the World Cup break on November 13, the Rossoneri will play 12 matches between Serie A and the Champions League.

Although the Belgian teenager has not been included in the Champions League squad registration list, he could be a key rotation option for the backline in Serie A. After spending the last month working hard to adapt to Pioli’s system and tactics, Vranckx will be keen to make an impact as he works to convince Milan to make his stay in the Lombardy capital permanent.
