The Champions League clash was truly remarkable, as Bayer went 2-0 up within 19 minutes, then trailed 4-2 before two goals in 60 seconds sealed the final result.

“Our Coach made some smart changes and we equalised. It was incredible!” Voeller told Roma TV.

“We knew Roma would cause us problems, but we also knew that we could do well in this game.

“Whoever wins at the Stadio Olimpico will have a very good chance of qualifying now.”

Bayer Leverkusen have four points, BATE Borisov three and Roma only two, while Barcelona break away on seven.

“There was the risk of conceding a fifth goal, but in football games can change in a moment and after the 4-4 we could’ve won.

“At least the spectators enjoyed themselves!”
