Dusan Vlahovic’s €80m move from Fiorentina to Juventus today sees him become one of the most expensive ever January signings in football.

The 22-year-old Serbian striker signed a five-and-a-half year deal with the Old Lady, tying him to the club until June 2026. He will earn €7m net per season, and he’s expected to be the leading figure in the club’s post-Cristiano Ronaldo era.

Vlahovic’s transfer to Juventus is the third most expensive ever transfer in the January transfer market, behind the moves of Philippe Coutinho and Virgil Van Dijk.

The Brazilian forward moved from Liverpool to Barcelona in a deal worth around €135m in 2018, whilst the Dutch defender transferred from Southampton to Liverpool for around €84.6m in the same window.

Vlahovic’s move was more expensive than the deal that saw Aymeric Laporte join Manchester City (€65m) and Christian Pulisic to Chelsea (€64m). It was also the second most expensive ever transfer between Serie A clubs, behind Gonzalo Higuain’s €90m move from Napoli to Juventus.
