Over 10,000 whistles will reportedly be handed out, so Fiorentina fans can make a deafening noise every time Dusan Vlahovic touches the ball for Juventus, repeating the reception Mohamed Salah received.

The Coppa Italia semi-final first leg kicks off at 20.00 GMT at the Stadio Franchi.

This is the first time Vlahovic has set foot back in the stadium since forcing through his transfer to their arch-rivals Juventus in January.

The club has appealed for the fans to avoid any racist chants as part of their no doubt fiery reception for the Serbian striker.

It seems the ultras have decided upon a louder and more united course of action, as RAI Sport claim 10,000 whistles will be handed out to fans coming into the stadium.

The plan is to blow the whistle every time Vlahovic gets a touch on the ball.

This could cause serious problems for the referee in case of a foul, as it would become inaudible.

It’s not the first time a former hero has been greeted with deafening whistles by Fiorentina supporters, because they did the same thing when Salah returned to the Stadio Franchi for the first time wearing the Roma jersey.

Before that, Nicola Berti was so loudly insulted every time he touched the ball on his first game in Florence for Inter in February 1989 that he had to be substituted just 30 minutes into the match.

4 thought on “Vlahovic to be greeted by 10,000 Fiorentina whistles, just like Salah”
  1. Vlahovic is from Serbia. Serbia is big ally of Russia. The best form of welcome to Artemio Franchi would be like “Dusan, be against the war”.

  2. Rob, don’t put all Inter fans in one group. Other Inter fans make your life so tough. I’m one of those who just ignore you.
