Reports in Italy claim Dusan Vlahovic is unwilling to spread his salary onto a longer deal with Juventus, so Alvaro Morata could be an option for the Old Lady next season.
Juventus are willing to discuss a new deal with Vlahovic, one of the highest earners at the club with a €7m-a-year salary until 2026.
Juventus’ plan is to lower Vlahovic’s wages and spread his salary onto a longer contract, something the former Fiorentina striker is unwilling to do, reports Il Corriere dello Sport’s Thursday’s printed edition on page 22.
Juventus are set to meet the striker’s agent Darko Ristic over the last few days, but if Vlahovic doesn’t sign a new contract he may leave in the summer.
As per Tuttosport, Juventus would be ready to move on if Vlahovic decides to leave and, of course, if the Old Lady receive a valuable offer.
One of the main targets to replace Vlahovic would be Morata, who has already spent four years in Turin scoring 59 goals in 185 appearances with the Bianconeri.
Morata has a €21m clause and although his Atletico Madrid contract expires this coming June, Tuttosport claims the Colchoneros have already agreed to extend his stay until 2027.
Even in this case, however, the Spaniard would be one of Juventus’ primary targets next season if Vlahovic leaves.
Morata has been in scintillating form for Atletico Madrid this season, scoring 12 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions.
