Dusan Vlahovic praises Juventus attitude and explains his celebration after he scored on his debut with the Old Lady.

It was the ideal debut for Vlahovic and Denis Zakaria, as the two January signings were both on target in the 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona in Turin.

This result also allows the Old Lady to leapfrog Atalanta into fourth place and the Champions League spots.

The Serbian already had 17 Serie A goals this season for Fiorentina and continued his scoring streak in this new jersey.

“It was very important to win this match because after the break for international duty is the toughest, especially mentally,” Vlahovic told DAZN.

“We had the right approach from the start and did the important thing, which was to win.

“I must thank my teammate and the coach for helping me so much over the last few days. I too am trying to understand as quickly as possible how things work here. I am giving it my all.

“The most important thing for a striker is to score goals, but I want to improve in my general play, shaking off defenders, helping the team as much as possible.

“The coach told me to stay calm, not feel anxious, and that it would all go well.”
Targets?

“As I said in the press conference, Juve always aim for the highest objectives. When Juve start a competition, they aim to win it. I am here to give my contribution, we’ll take it one step at a time and see how the season develops.”

Vlahovic joined Paulo Dybala in celebrating with the ‘mask’ symbol used by La Joya. Was that prepared?

“No, it was spontaneous.”

  1. What a difference he makes to the forward line. With Dybala, Morata and Vlahovic Juve have a great combination of strength, skill and pace and Vlahovic usually takes two defenders, releasing the others to do damage. When Chiesa comes back, that forward line will be awesome.
