Dusan Vlahovic is ‘not happy’ after his Champions League debut goal, as Juventus were held 1-1 by Villarreal, and explains his controversial celebration. ‘People always want to create controversy.’
It was the perfect start in Spain when Vlahovic found the net 32 seconds into his Champions League debut, creating a goal out of nowhere with his first touch.
However, Adrien Rabiot’s defensive error allowed Dani Parejo to get away and volley in the equaliser undisturbed.

The France international was then fortunate to avoid a straight red card, as he was booked for raking his studs down Samu Chukwueze’s knee.
“My dream has come true at Juve, but I am not happy because we didn’t win and we all really wanted the victory today. It didn’t happen, so we move forward,” Vlahovic told Mediaset.
“I think we did what we had prepared in the locker room, but of course a lot depends on the opponents. We congratulate Villarreal on their performance, we tried to continue the way we started.
“I have personally already forgotten this match, we just have to look forward to the next game.”
Vlahovic was asked if his celebration, doing the ‘talking’ gesture with his hand, was silencing his critics?
“I don’t know why people always try to create controversy. I don’t read the papers, I just try to improve every day and keep my feet on the ground.
“It wasn’t for any critics, it was just a gesture for a member of my family. That is all.”
