The 21-year-old became the first Viola player since Kurt Hamrin in February 1964 to score a hat-trick in the first half of a Serie A match, going on to win the game 4-1.
“I have to be honest, it’s an incredible sensation. However, even more importantly we won the game and took home three points,” Vlahovic told Sky Sport Italia.
“I want to dedicate this hat-trick to my family and can’t wait to celebrate with them.”
The third goal was truly remarkable, as he chested down a Bartlomiej Dragowski long ball and curled into the far top corner from distance.
“My first touch was perfect and I turned, so when I saw the far corner open up, I went for it.
“I also had to thank Drago, because I have him in my Fantasy Football team, so he gave me an assist too! I’m in my Fantasy team as well, so I’ll get a lot of points!”
This was a huge game for Fiorentina, because they were level on 26 points with Benevento going into this weekend.
“We were aware of what we needed to do, we did everything that we prepared in the locker room, going out there as if it was the last game of the season and giving everything to win.”
Franck Ribery provided the assist for Valentin Eysseric’s goal to complete the 4-1 victory.
“I’ve said a thousand times, Ribery is an incredible player who has won everything, but he’s even more important to us as a person. He talks to everyone, gives them advice and acts as a role model,” concluded Vlahovic.
“It is a real honour for us to play alongside him.”
