While Duvan Zapata and Joaquin Correa are Inter’s first choices to replace Romelu Lukaku, it’s reported Dusan Vlahovic and Edin Dzeko could be the picks instead.

Multiple sources in Italy and England have Lukaku ready to join Chelsea once the offer reaches €130m cash, as Inter already turned down €100m plus Marcos Alonso.

The figures are now too high to be snubbed, but above all Inter are eager for fans to know it was Lukaku who wanted to make the transfer, hoping they can avoid being blamed by angry ultras.

The issue now is how to replace their top scorer over the last two seasons.

Inter’s first choice would be Duvan Zapata from Atalanta and Joaquin ‘Tucu’ Correa from Simone Inzaghi’s old club Lazio.

However, Calciomercato.com have a different theory should those moves not pan out.

They propose the Nerazzurri invest €60m to prise Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina, the 21-year-old providing a youthful and much-sought-after striker for the front line.

He’d be assisted by someone more experienced and it is the return yet again of the rumours linking Dzeko to Inter.

It has been a recurring theme for the last three seasons, but never quite materialises, so losing Lukaku might be the time for the Roma veteran to finally wear the Nerazzurri jersey.

It’s believed €15m would be more than enough to get the deal done, especially as Roma want rid of Dzeko’s €7.5m per season salary.
