According to the latest reports, Dusan Vlahovic’s agent prompted Fiorentina to abandon contract talks with his excessive demands, including 10 per cent commission on a future sale.

The striker’s current deal runs to June 2023 and this morning Viola President Rocco Commisso announced that the renewal proposal had been rejected.

Commisso: ‘Vlahovic will not renew with Fiorentina’

According to TGR RAI Toscana, the reasons for the collapse of the negotiations were not the wages on offer, but the specific demands that his agent made.

It’s reported the representative wanted an exclusive mandate to negotiate a sale at the agreed €75m release clause, plus 10 per cent commission on the transfer, in other words at least €7.5m.

This same source states that if Fiorentina do try to sell Vlahovic in the January transfer window, they will ask for circa €75m.

Numerous clubs in Italy and Europe are known to be interested in the Serbia international forward, including Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United.

7 thought on “Vlahovic agent demands infuriated Fiorentina”
  1. This is indeed very easy to solve in the mid-term. Clubs should avoid any contact with any agent or comissions and players will have to think about it

  2. Vlahovic is playing dirty here, without trust from club he wouldn’t make it, and he is being really ungrateful. Also he shouldn’t forget that Rocco doesn’t really care about the money and can just send him to the stands till June 2023

  3. While I don’t begrudge agents for wanting more for their clients, the “more for me” mindset is making sports contracts untenable. Cut out the money-grubbing leech, but this is of course unrealistic.

  4. We need rules for agents and commissions. There has to be a set commission for every transfer. They can’t just ask for whatever they want. Players can, but the agents?

  5. @Fi that behavior will also damage Fiorentinas recruiting power. Players will be hesitant to join them because players see Fiorentina as a stepping stone club, and not a destination club. The best solution is to get the most amount of money from the market while you can and move on to the next talent you’ll be selling in the future, and keep building until you become one of the destination clubs.

Don’t understand why people have this idea of Rocco.
Look at cosmos. And in what has he really invested in Fiorentina. He has invested in property yes. But in the squad? He have sold for more than he brought in. He got the club cheap and all assets like chiesa ,vlahovic was brought in by previous owners.
To think Rocco doesn’t care about money when he has taken more money out of the club than what he put in is ludicrous
