Sampdoria look set to buy Emiliano Viviano from Palermo, while Argentina’s Sergio Romero heads towards Roma.

Viviano spent this season on loan at Marassi and negotiations to make the move permanent hit several problems along the way.

According to Sky Sport Italia and other sources, the two clubs finally reached an agreement today.

The goalkeeper will go to Samp for €2.5m, although they do still need to work out how to spread these payments.

Meanwhile, Sampdoria benchwarmer Romero is reportedly going to join Roma after the Copa America.

Although he starred for Argentina in their 2014 World Cup campaign, reaching the Final, he was rarely considered by the Blucerchiati.

His contract expires on June 30 and there are suggestions Romero already agreed terms with Roma.

Yesterday Empoli confirmed they have a deal for Roma second choice shot-stopper Lukasz Skorupski.
