Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano doesn’t think his international career with Italy is over just yet.

The custodian has won six caps for his country, but he has fallen out of favour with boss Cesare Prandelli in recent times.

The custodian has won six caps for his country, but he has fallen out of favour with boss Cesare Prandelli in recent times.

“It is the ambition of everyone to play for your nation,” the former Bologna man told the Corriere dello Sport.

“Even if I’m not presently part of the set-up, I have time on my side. I’m 27 and, should I deserve it, I will have other opportunities to wear that shirt.”

Viviano spent last season on loan at Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”10″>Fiorentina from Palermo, but the Viola opted against signing him outright.

“I was close to Roma in the summer, but then the Giallorossi signed Morgan De Sanctis,” he revealed.

“Joining Arsenal was a well-pondered decision. I was given this great opportunity and I took it. I’ll just wait for my chance in the team.”

Viviano, on loan, has yet to appear for his new club.
