Virtus finished 18th in last season’s Serie B campaign before losing a relegation playoff to Modena on away goals, while Ascoli finished four points behind Teramo in second place in Lega Pro.
“Following the action taken by the FIGC on September 9 2015, the Federation President has decided to give the clubs Virtus Entella and Ascoli Picchio the license for the 2015/16 Serie B championship,” read the statement.
