Fiorentina have reportedly entered talks with Spezia regarding coach Vincenzo Italiano and are ready to activate his release clause.

Only weeks after having announced Gennaro Gattuso as their new head coach at the Artemio Franchi, the Viola are again looking for a new tactician.

The former Napoli and Milan coach walked away from the job in Florence and Spezia coach Italiano has emerged as a priority for patron Rocco Commisso.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports the Fiorentina President negotiates with the Aquilotti, who are asking for €1m to free the tactician that helped Spezia to Serie A and then to safety in their first season.

Fiorentina are, according to the newspaper, willing to pay the requested amount and could even offer players in an exchange deal.

The Ligurians have now started looking for Italiano’s replacement, as the 43-year-old coach has been offered a two-year deal with an option for a further season at Fiorentina.

Eugenio Corini, Davide Nicola and Marco Giampaolo are being linked with the job at the Stadio Alberto Picco.
