The Dimitar Berbatov situation could get ugly, as Fiorentina fans are gathering outside the Stadio Franchi amid reports his move has been hijacked by Juventus.

The Manchester United striker had been all set to arrive in Florence this afternoon and many gathered at the airport to welcome him on a connecting flight that stopped in Munich.

However, Berbatov did not arrive and it’s reported Juve intercepted negotiations with an offer to double the Bulgarian’s wages.

Fiorentina had proposed a three-year deal worth €1.8m per season.

Now a group of around 50 angry supporters are gathering outside the Stadio Franchi in a bid to understand what is happening.

To make matters worse, it’s also reported that the alternative for Fiorentina, Juventus and Fulham is Nicklas Bendtner of Arsenal.

All three clubs are also in talks for the Danish international, so it’s possible one of them will be left empty-handed at the end of it all.

Arsenal would be prepared to release Bendtner on loan with an option to buy for €5m.
