During the current uncertainties, Viola has claimed the team aren’t picturing any other scenario than playing in Serie A next season and has praised coach Filippo Inzaghi for his work at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.
“My future is to play in Serie A with Benevento, I don’t think of any other solutions also because [President Oreste] Vigorito is not satisfied by simply participating,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Benevento is a city on a human scale, with warm people, and with Inzaghi we learned to dare at the right time.
“He is humble in dealing with the players and has given us an incredible mental strength. I can’t wait to play in Serie A with this shirt and him on the bench.”
The midfielder joked he could have helped the current Benevento coach score more goals during his time as a player too.
“With me on the pitch, Inzaghi would have scored a few more goals himself,” Viola joked. “In a training session, the coach scored a great goal on my assist. Tre training session obviously ended there.”
