Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the Real Madrid star discussed the influence of Ancelotti on him and how the Italian tactician has helped him develop.

“I talked with him and he gave me a lot of advice to help me become a starter with Brazil,” he said as quoted by ESPN.

“He gave me a lot of confidence, he was always tough with me when he needed to be. He is like a father to me.”

Overall, Vini has scored 32 goals in 73 appearances under Ancelotti.

The former Milan and PSG boss signed a three-year deal with Real Madrid in 2021, returning to the Santiago Bernabeu for the second time in his career.

His contract expires in June 2024 and he is expected to retire as soon as his spell with the La Liga giants comes to an end.
