The Poland striker will see his contract expire at the end of the season, but Napoli still want a fee between €15 and €18m to sell the former Ajax star in the January transfer window.
Marseille have emerged as possible contenders for Inter and Juventus in the race to sign the 26-year-old and according to reports in France, they have already submitted a €10m bid.
Villas-Boas has confirmed the Poland striker is a transfer target of the French club.
“We are interested but there are no advanced discussions with the club or the player," the former Chelsea boss said at a press conference, according to L’Equipe.
“We are not in advanced talks, [his signing] is not going to happen the next few days. It is an interest, which unfortunately appeared in the Italian press," he continued.
“Milik is not the only option. It's the toughest target, maybe, because he's an important player. It's not so simple to sign him.”
Inter and Juventus remain interested, but neither clubs are going to match Napoli’s economic demands in January, Football Italia can confirm.
