Nicolo Zaniolo has returned to Galatasaray but won’t stay for long, with Villarreal ready to fight with Fiorentina for the Italian forward’s signature.

The 24-year-old spent the 2023-24 season on loan with Aston Villa, where he struggled to make a lasting impression on Unai Emery, unable to prove his qualities in the Premier League. He managed just three goals across 39 appearances for the English side.

Zaniolo will not be part of the Italy squad for the upcoming European Championship, missing out due to a metatarsal fracture. He was also forced to miss the Azzurri’s successful Euro 2020 campaign due to a cruciate ligament injury.

Zaniolo fight

As reported by Relevo via Calciomercato.com, Villarreal are seriously interested in making a move for Zaniolo this summer and are keen to fight with Fiorentina for the Italian forward, who has returned to Galatasaray from Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old is keen to return to Serie A and Italy following his acrimonious exit from Roma back in February 2023, but the Spanish side aren’t too worried and believe they can convince him of the move.
