Roma midfielder Gonzalo Villar will miss the friendly against Sevilla, as he suffered a sprain in the left knee during the pre-season retreat at Algarve in Portugal.

ANSA reports the Spanish midfielder will certainly miss the next game against Sevilla, as he was forced to stop training due to a first-degree sprain in his left knee.

But the news agency reveals the injury is not serious and is not of big worry for the Giallorossi, as the midfielder just needs a few days off to recover.

Villar arrived from Elche in January 2020, when he signed a deal until June 2024 with La Lupa, and the 23-year-old has played 58 competitive games since moving to Italy.

Meanwhile, the outlet reports Jordan Veretout trained partially with the group today and should soon be back in action for Jose Mourinho’s team.
