Benevento President Oreste Vigorito confessed he ‘can’t wait’ to celebrate promotion to Serie A with everyone involved with the club.
The Stregoni sit 20 points above second-placed Crotone in Serie B and have been fighting for the resumption of the championship and their right to play in Serie A next term.
“They really don’t want me to leave football. I have always trusted in the work of the institutions and their ability to take account of the sporting merits and common sense,” he told OttoChannel.

“But I must admit that I sometimes feared that they might take away what had already become our right on the pitch.
“Whether it’s through the pitch or with sporting merit, I can’t wait to share this success with everyone wo made the dream possible.
“There is never a single architect. There’s a squad, a team, a city, that have been able to put their signature on a project that has distant roots but that lives for a beautiful future.”
