The Giallorossi chief spoke to OttoChannel TV about the club’s future and was asked about the reports last week regarding transfer talks with free agent Daniel Sturridge.

Patron Vigorito would love to see the former Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City star at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito but revealed he only knows about any talks when sporting director Pasquale Foggia is sure the deal can be completed.

“Foggia works all year around,” Vigorito said. “Only when he is truly convinced that the negotiations can go through, he speaks to me immediately afterwards.

“Sturridge would be an honour for any Italian team, so I can’t say I don’t agree. I wouldn’t be surprised if he opened talks to understand Sturridge’s intentions.”
