Christian Vieri doesn’t think that Massimiliano Allegri and Juventus have any more excuses now following the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic.

The 22-year-old Serbian striker officially signed for the Bianconeri yesterday in a deal worth €80m in total. He’ll be expected to be the main figure in the post-Cristiano Ronaldo era and he’s set to make his debut in Juventus’ upcoming game against Hellas Verona.

Speaking on BoboTV, Vieri discussed Vlahovic’s transfer and the expectations for Juventus now.

“The player has chosen one of the most important teams in the world. Now Allegri has to make Juventus play. Enough with the game shown so far, it’s not acceptable.

“People often criticise Agnelli, but two years ago he got the best defender in the world, De Ligt. Last year he got Chiesa, paid a lot of money. Now he gets Vlahovic, €75m.

“These are very strong young players who are ready to play. Juventus must play to win and convince. Full stop. Morata is a great player, I can tell you that. In fact, who wants him?

“Xavi’s Barcelona. Now we’ll see if Allegri is up to coaching this team. Juventus can’t wait two or three years to fight for the Scudetto. It’s not like that. Enough excuses.”

Juventus currently sit 5th in the Serie A table, one point behind 4th place Atalanta, who have a game in hand. They sit 11 points behind league leaders Inter, so they’d need a run of incredible form if they wanted to get involved in the title race this season.

One of the Bianconeri’s biggest issues this season is finding the back of the net, and the arrival of Vlahovic is sure to change that. The 22-year-old Serbian forward has scored 17 goals in 21 Serie A appearances this season for Fiorentina.
