Former striker Christian Vieri said Juventus ‘can’t play’ like they did against Napoli. ‘The Bianconeri must play better, period’.

Napoli won 2-1 over Juventus on Saturday and the pressure on the Bianconeri increased after three games without a win.

Vieri believes Napoli will only get stronger when they have a full squad but pointed at a weak performance from the Old Lady this weekend.

“I said it at the beginning of the year,” Vieri said on BoboTV. “If they don’t sell the best, they can challenge. And Mertens is still missing.

“Juve must play better. Period. You can win or lose, it’s part of the game, but they must play better.

“In Naples you can’t play these games. They must win and play good football. And this doesn’t mean being Barcelona or Ajax….

“In teams like Juve you have to give something more, that’s why the shirts are heavy.”

Juventus sit 16th with one point after three games and are preparing for their opening game in the Champions League against Malmö FF tomorrow.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men aim to bounce back with a win against the Swedish side, while Napoli are playing Leicester in the Europa League later this week.
