Christian Vieri insists “there are no favourites, as Inter can beat Juventus in a one-off match” this Friday evening.

The now retired striker has played for both clubs and commented to La Gazzetta dello Sport about this week’s Derby d’Italia.

“There are no favourites. Inter can beat Juventus in a one-off match,” said ‘Bobo’ Vieri.

“It’s a strong Juve side, certainly, but by no means the best they’ve ever had. I thought the team with Tardelli, Platini, Gentile and Boniek was the strongest.

“It’s difficult for Inter to win silverware, but they are on the right track. We’ve got to give them time, as it’s only Luciano Spalletti’s second year, but the club is doing a great job.”
