Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vieira insists that Juventus outcast Aaron Ramsey is ‘a really strong player’ who will have a ‘lot of options’ in the winter transfer window.

The Welshman is not a regular starter in Turin and Juventus are pushing for his sale in January.

However, the Serie A giants have issues finding potential suitors due to the player’s salary.

Ramsey’s €7m-a-year deal makes him one of the highest earners in Turin. His agents also get €2.8m per season until 2023, when the former Gunners’ contract expires.

Ramsey has reportedly rejected moves to Burnely and Newcastle United, while Palace remain in the race to secure his services.

“I believe he is a really strong player,” Vieira said at a press conference today.

“He’s going to have a lot of options, I would say.”

Ramsey’s agent met Juventus in December discussing his client’s position at the club.

The former Arsenal star has recovered from COVID yesterday and will likely be available for Sunday’s match against Milan, although he may not play, given that he’s only collected five appearances across all competitions this term.

  1. I didn’t know that Ramsey’s agent are getting 2.8M/year on top of 7M/year for Ramsey himself. That’s almost 10M/year in net for an injury prone player. If we consider gross salary, the total package is around 15-20M/year!

No wonder they say ramsey is getting 350-400k/week. Kudos to juve’s director for this ‘free transfer’ deal.

No wonder the agent is not bothered. Picking up nearly 3m a year as long as Ramsey stays at Juve is a nice little earner. Agents are spivs.
