New Inter signing Nemanja Vidic says he decided to leave Manchester United in order to face new challenges.
The Serbian defender spent nine years at Old Trafford but last season confirmed he was leaving in order to move to San Siro.
“After nine years I needed new motivation and a new challenge in my career,” Vidic said at a Press conference today to officially present him as a Nerazzurri player.
“Here, I can improve my motivation and other personal aspects. Italy is a nice place to live and a great country near to home.
“I don’t know what the future holds for me, now I am here to stay for three years. Now I want to train well and prepare as best as I can for the season.”
Vidic was also asked whether former Red Devils teammate Javier Hernandez will be joining him at Inter, as well as what shirt number he hopes to wear for his new club.
“No, Hernandez asked me nothing about Inter, I know nothing about it.
“I hope to wear the number 15 shirt but I don’t know. I will be fine with whatever number I have.
“The important thing is the group and the defensive system, not any one player. To achieve targets only the team matters.”
