Nemanja Vidic and Vasco Regini are suspended for Serie A Week 2 after red cards for Inter and Sampdoria.
There had been concerns Vidic would be in for a longer ban because he was dismissed for what the referee considered to be ‘sarcastic’ applause.
That view was backed by the Disciplinary Commission, who said in their report Vidic aimed towards the referee “an obvious and ironic applause.”
However, the ex-Manchester United man receives only a one-match ban after his red card against Torino.
Samp defender Regini is also suspended for one game after two bookable offences in a 1-1 draw with Palermo.
Juventus, Roma and Atalanta were fined for the behaviour of their supporters, with the Bianconeri fans guilty of ‘territorial discrimination.’
These anti-Southerner chants had previously been treated the same way as racism, but there has been a change in the rules this season.
Roma were also fined for using an illegal communication device between the bench and stands, something Coach Rudi Garcia has already been penalised for in the past.
