Italy CT Roberto Mancini told the players they were ‘the masters of our destiny’ ahead of the Final against England. Watch the coach go through the team before kick-off.

The Azzurri coach started to list the players starting against the Three Lions at Wembley and had time for a joke to ease the tension ahead of the EURO 2020 Final.

“Gigio, Dilo, Leo, Giorgio, Spina…,” Mancini said.

Injured Leonardo Spinazzola, who ruptured his Achilles during the quarter-final against Belgium, was included in the line-up.

But the Roma full-back’s name was erased after a few laughs, and replaced by Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri.

“Emerson, Jorgio, Marco, Bare, Ciro, Lorenzo and Federico,” Mancini continued.

After having named the starting line-up, the coach’s speech before the games was short and concise.

“I have nothing more to tell you. You know what you are, we are not here by chance,” the CT added. “We are the masters of our destiny, you know what you have to do.”
