Gianluca Vialli was the heart and soul of the Italy camp at UEFA EURO 2020, but couldn’t bear to watch the penalty shoot-out against England.

The former striker was brought into the Nazionale staff by his old friend, coach Roberto Mancini, and together they lifted the trophy at Wembley Stadium.

That came after a tortuous penalty shoot-out in the Final, with Vialli keeping his back to the goal throughout.

RAI 1 documentary Sogno Azzurro shows the scene with Vialli facing the other way, as we hear the sound of the crowd and the Italian television commentator explaining that Jorginho’s decisive penalty was saved by Jordan Pickford, followed by Gianluigi Donnarumma denying Bukayo Saka.
