UEFA are enjoying the fact Napoli have reached the Champions League quarter-final for the first time, also because their fans put on such a show during the tournament anthem.

The Partenopei comfortably disposed of Eintracht Frankfurt to set up an Italian derby in the quarter-finals against fellow Serie A side Milan.

Luciano Spalletti’s men have won all but one of their Champions League matches this season and every home fixture at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona has a special tradition.

For quite a few years now, the crowd waits to sing along with the final line of the anthem, roaring ‘The Champions’ so loudly that it can be heard echoing across the city rooftops.

Other fans have adopted it too, but nowhere near with the same unity and ferocity as in Naples, and even UEFA are enjoying it enough to feature on their social media channels.

In fact, if you look closely, you’ll see even the children who accompany the teams out onto the field are getting in on the act.
