It was 25 years ago today that Italy legend Giovanni Trapattoni held his truly iconic press conference for Bayern Munich, which rewrote the German language.
On March 10, 1998, Il Trap gathered the local media in Munich for what was meant to be a normal press conference, but rapidly turned into a wild rant complete with fists banging on the table and storming off.
Trapattoni’s tirade went as viral as it could in those relatively early days of the Internet, even becoming a dance remix, and for Italian speakers it made the name Strunz unforgettable.
