Fikayo Tomori is back in the England squad and admits the ‘culture in Italy suits me, as it’s quite relaxed, but really, really passionate’ about football.

The central defender has been a regular first-choice pick for the Rossoneri since he first arrived from Chelsea.

He spoke to reporters on international duty ahead of this evening’s EURO 2024 qualifier against Malta and confessed there are “little details” that are different between Serie A and the Premier League, so he must listen to advice from both Stefano Pioli and Gareth Southgate.

“The move definitely helped, it’s given me a different perspective on the way people see football, because the league itself is different, the way they see the phases of football is different.

“Obviously, a new language, new culture, weather, people, food, so it’s definitely been different in terms of lifestyle.

“I think the culture suits me, as it’s quite relaxed, but when it comes to football they are really, really passionate. That is synonymous with how I live my life.”

There are increasingly English players who have attempted experiences abroad, the latest being Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.
