Manolo Gabbiadini grabbed his second goal of the game in the first half of Sampdoria’s six-pointer against Hellas Verona in the Serie A relegation battle with a blistering strike from outside the box.

The former Southampton striker latched on to a loose backwards header from Hellas’ Adrien Tameze, before hammering an unstoppable effort past the helpless Lorenzo Montipo in goal.

His second goal of the game came just 11 minutes after his 24th minute opener, with Sampdoria currently leading at the break.

A win for Sampdoria this afternoon will lift them off the bottom spot in Serie A at the expense of Cremonese.
