Juventus have Wojciech Szczesny to thank for not finding themselves behind in their Europa League semi-final tie with Sevilla after the Polish international pulled off a spectacular save in the first half to keep the scores level at 0–0 on the night and 1-1 on aggregate.

The ex-Arsenal ‘keeper reacted magnificently to keep out Luis Ocampos’ goal-bound header from point-blank range following an enticing near-post cross from Jesus Navas.

Replays showed just how close Juve were to falling behind, as the ball had partially, though importantly not fully, crossed the line.

Should Juventus find a tie-winning goal before full-time, they will be rewarded with a place in the final against either Roma or Bayer Leverkusen on May 31.
