New Parma signing Zion Suzuki left a positive impression on the press in Parma during his official unveiling on Tuesday, as he issued a brief statement in Italian, just days after arriving in the country.

Suzuki, who was born in the United States to a Ghanaian father and Japanese mother, joined Parma just shy of a week ago in a deal reported to be worth up to €10m with add-ons and bonuses included.

At his first press conference on Tuesday, the 21-year-old was able to give a brief statement in Italian, telling the press: “Thank you for coming to my presentation.

“I am happy to come to a squad with a big history like Parma. I will give the maximum to this great squad, thank you.”

Members of the press immediately gave the young shot-stopper a round of applause for his efforts.
