Genoa are having some fun with the Kevin Strootman viral moment when he took a snack thrown by the Salernitana fans and ate it while staring them down.
It could’ve been a very ugly moment when Mateo Retegui equalised at the Stadio Arechi, because fortunately the only object that struck the Italy international was a pre-packaged snack.
Other items thrown included lighters and what appeared to be a large rock or lump of concrete.
However, Strootman decided to respond to the nasty gesture by taking the snack, unwrapping it and taking a big bite, all while staring directly at the people who had thrown it.
Genoa had fun with it on social media, turning Strootman into a Willy Wonka style character with his own snack bars.
