Chris Smalling opened the scoring for Roma against Cremonese with a rare goal and celebrated by holding up injured teammate Georginio Wijnaldum’s jersey.

The centre-back peeled away at the back post to get his firm header to a Lorenzo Pellegrini corner 65 minutes into the Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico.

The England international ran to the touchline, where he was handed Wijnaldum’s jersey to hold up to the camera and the crowd.

Wijnaldum is probably out for three months after sustaining a fractured tibia during an accidental training ground collision.
