Milan defender Jan-Carlo Simic scored on his Serie A debut against Monza, and his parents at San Siro struggled to fight back the tears.

The 18-year-old centre-back was introduced in the first half to replace the injured Tommaso Pobega and took just a few minutes to score his first Serie A goal before the halftime break, doubling Milan’s lead.

Simic’s parents at San Siro could not hide their emotion at seeing their son score his first Milan goal under the Curva Sud.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows Simic’s father and mother struggling to fight back the tears while the Milan defender celebrates on the pitch with his teammates.

Simic dedicated his first Serie A goal to his parents after the final whistle, saying he would gift them the shirt from the Monza game.
