Messi and Van Gaal didn’t exactly become friends in Friday’s World Cup quarter-final clash between Argentina and the Netherlands.

The Dutch tactician had upset the Argentineans with his pre-match interviews and his players’ attitude during the game also infuriated the South Americans.

Messi confronted the 71-year-old coach on the touchline after the final whistle telling him: ‘You no longer talk now?’

Former Juventus and Milan midfielder Davids, one of Van Gaal’s assistants, had to intervene using diplomacy, separating the duo.
