President Paolo Scaroni trusts Milan are ‘building a team suited for the Champions League’ and joked director Giorgio Furlani is ‘buying a player a week.’
The Rossoneri have certainly been active on the transfer market since sacking directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, handing Furlani greater powers.
They secured Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea, Luka Romero and Marco Sportiello as free agents, while Christian Pulisic had his medical today, also coming from Stamford Bridge.
“Furlani is getting us accustomed to buying a player a week, but we won’t continue at that pace until August 31,” Scaroni told Sky Sport Italia at an event with BMW.
“It seems to me we are building a team suited to the Champions League, considering the way European football is played.”
Amid all the changes, including the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United and the release of Brahim Diaz to Real Madrid, coach Stefano Pioli remains.
“Pioli is an element of consistency, he seemed in good form on Monday and is perfectly in sync with our team behind the scenes,” added the President.
“All those who have gone did leave behind great memories within us and I wish them a great future career.”
