Salernitana defender Dylan Bronn was shown a straight red card in the first half of Tunisia’s friendly against Brazil for a very high tackle on Neymar.

The game was played in Paris, so PSG striker Neymar was on ‘home’ turf, although the vast majority of the local crowd was cheering on Tunisia.

Brazil were already 4-1 up approaching half-time when Salernitana defender Bronn saw red for going in extremely high on Neymar.

Centre-back Bronn was making his 36th appearance for Tunisia at senior level, but this was his first dismissal.

He was signed by Salernitana from FC Metz in August for €1m and has so far played seven Serie A games, earning one yellow card.

Salernitana had better news from international duty this week, as Pasquale Mazzocchi made his senior Italy debut in the 2-0 Nations League win away to Hungary.

  1. For once Neymar actually was hacked down. He rolls around on the floor even if tackled by a fly, so it is quite difficult to know until you see the replay.
