Manchester United legend Roy Kean warned Antonio Conte about Tottenham’s DNA similarly to what Giorgio Chiellini had done in 2018.

Spurs were eliminated from the FA Cup on Tuesday following a 1-0 loss against Middlesbrough. Conte’s men have lacked consistency in 2022, losing four of their last six Premier League matches.

The Italian coach had vented his frustration after a 1-0 loss to Burnley last week and seemed to question his future at the club, although he later clarified that his claims were part of a ‘media strategy.’

Tottenham’s recent run of poor results have left Manchester United legend Roy Kean not impressed and the former midfielder harshly criticised Spurs, warning the coach about the club’s DNA.

“You shouldn’t be surprised. How many times do we have to see this? Whatever is in that club’s DNA, the players…there is a weakness there, it was pretty pathetic, but I wasn’t surprised,” he told ITV Sport.

Kean’s claims sound very similar to those of Juventus and Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini, who, after a Champions League victory at Wembley in 2018, said: “Tottenham are a great team but lack that something extra you need to win trophies, and games like this.

“They always create a lot of chances to score, but in the end they are always missing something to get to the at the end. We believe in the history.”
