Roma players are celebrating José Mourinho’s 1,000th game as a coach with a dinner at a fish restaurant in the capital.

The Giallorossi picked all three points in a thrilling Serie A match against Sassuolo on Sunday.

A late Stephan El Shaarawy’s goal gave Roma their third win in three Serie A games in Mourinho’s 1,000th match as a coach.

After the game, the Special One admitted he had lied to himself during the week, saying that the match against Sassuolo was not important, adding that he was afraid of losing it.

“I was terrified the eternal memory would be of a defeat,” he told DAZN.

His run under the Curva Sud after El Shaarawy’s goal is already one of the most iconic moments of the campaign.

Repubblica.it reports Roma players decided to celebrate their coach’s achievement in a fish restaurant not too far from the Stadio Olimpico.

The technical staff and the club’s owner Dan Friedkin are also attending the dinner, reports Gazzetta.it.

As per Repubblica.it, the players opted to go out on Tuesday so their preparation for Thursday’s Conference League clash against CSKA won’t be affected.

Roma meet Hellas Verona away on Sunday in their next Serie A game.

Twitter goes wild as Mourinho runs down the touchline to celebrate Roma win

2 thought on “Video: Roma players take Mourinho out to dinner”
  1. The team and coach ate fish, and this somehow constitutes newsworthy material? Must be a slow day. ^_^

  2. There is a clear change in the morale of the Roma organization that has spread among the fans. Mourinho, Pinto and the Friedkins have brought a professionalism, experience and commitment to winning that has been reinforced by their sense of unity. This has been sorely missing for Roma. This video and others have shown it to all.
